Free Printable Easter Egg Coupons for the Christian Family

As Easter approaches, I can’t help but to get excited. Easter has always been a holiday my family celebrated growing up. While it’s important that our kids know and understand why we celebrate Easter, I think it’s also important that they have a little fun while partaking in the festivities.

Making the holiday meaningful and allowing the true resurrection story to shine through while also allowing our kids to be entertained with fun is a win-win. I think we can provide a good mix of instilling the lessons of Easter in our children amidst all the festive fun. We can keep the focus on the Easter story but also make it relatable for our kiddos.

And to do just that, I created a fun Easter activity that you can easily incorporate in your Easter celebration: printable Easter egg coupons!

I’ll explain how they work and share some pictures of what they look like. I’m sure you and your kids will love them.

And yes, the free printable is ready for you toward the bottom of this page, making your Easter prep a breeze.

Supplies Needed

  • Printable coupon template
  • Printer
  • Paper (preferably cardstock for durability)
  • Scissors or a paper cutter
  • Pens or markers for personalizing coupons (optional)

Decorating Supplies

  • Stickers, ribbons, or washi tape for decorating plastic eggs (optional)
  • Plastic Easter eggs

Other

  • Easter basket or bag for egg hunting

You have the option to gather the treats/gifts ahead of time or you can have your kids store the coupons and pull one out over the course of a few days or weeks.

How to Use the Coupons

Well, the very first thing to do is actually download your file which will contain the free printable coupons as well as a list of treat/reward ideas.

Once you’ve done that, cut all the coupons out.

Look through the coupons and remove any coupons that don’t align with you. Use the blank coupons to write in your own ideas if you choose.

Next, decide if you’re going to buy the treats and have them available ahead of time or if you’re gonna use the coupons as sort of like an “I-OWE-YOU.”

Each coupon contains a treat offering that correlates with one of God´s promises or righteous living.

Now to the less thrilling part: stuffing those eggs. Use the coupons and fill the egg with one coupon per egg.

If you’ve decided to have your rewards available ahead of time, then now’s the time when you can attach the treat to the corresponding egg.

Hide the eggs either indoors or outdoors and let the games begin. It may be helpful to make the child aware of how many eggs they will be hunting for.

Either during the hunt or after, as your kids open each egg, take a moment to talk about the significance of each treat. Relate it to either a promise from God or God´s expectation of us as believers.

The conversation doesn’t have to be anything too deep. Just focus on everybody sharing from the heart.

Congratulations, you’re creating memories with your children.

So, there you have it… A simple way to make this Easter not just a hunt for eggs, but a hunt for deeper understanding and connection with God.

Other Fun Easter Activities

Easter egg hunts aren’t the only activities kids can participate in during this season (though we all know how much fun those are). Here are some other simple, low-prep activities that can make the holiday special for your kids:

Easter Bunny Hop

Set up a mini obstacle course in your backyard or living room with pillows, chairs, and blankets. Challenge your kids to hop through it like bunnies! It’s a fantastic way to burn off some of that Easter candy energy.

Easter Blessing Jar

All you need is a jar, some colorful paper, and pens. Encourage your kids to write or draw something they’re thankful for each day leading up to Easter. These can be Easter blessings or prayers for friends and family. On Easter Sunday, open the jar and read these blessings together. It’s a wonderful way to foster gratitude and keep the spirit of Easter alive in your home.

Garden Tomb Craft:

Using a small pot, soil, and a few pebbles, kids can create their own little garden tomb. It’s a powerful visual reminder of the resurrection and a great talking point about the meaning of Easter.
