Moses Bible Story Summary
Moses was a key figure in the Bible. Back when he was just a baby, his mom chose to hide him in a basket and place him on the Nile River because the Egyptian Pharaoh had ordered all Hebrew boys to be killed. Fortunately, Pharaoh's daughter found him and decided to take care of him.
As an adult, Moses fled to Midian after defending a Hebrew against harsh treatment. He encountered a bush that burned without being consumed. God spoke to him from this bush and instructed him to return to Egypt and lead his people to freedom. At the time, his people were enslaved by Pharaoh.
Back in Egypt, Moses confronted Pharaoh and demanded the release of the Israelites. Of course, Pharaoh refused. It took ten devastating plagues orchestrated by God before Pharaoh gave in. Mose began to lead the people to freedom, and then Pharaoh changed his mind and sent his army after Moses and the Israelites.
The Israelites had hit a hard stop with the Red Sea preventing any more movement and the Egyptian army was starting to close in on them. Moses was instructed by God to part the waters. He did as God told him and the sea opened up, allowing the Israelites to escape. Once they were safe, the waters returned.

The Design of the Printable
So what makes this word search special? I've strayed from your typical word search puzzles and included a kid-friendly story about Moses on the page. Within the story are bolded words that the kids will ultimately be looking for.
The Story
Here’s the short story that I include on the word search printable:
Moses was born in Egypt where his people, the Israelites, were enslaved. To save him from a law that threatened all Hebrew baby boys, his mother hid him in a basket on the river. He was found and raised by the Pharaoh’s daughter and grew up in the palace, but never forgot where he came from.
As an adult, Moses fled to the desert of Midian after defending an Israelite and accidentally badly hurting an Egyptian. There, he became a shepherd and started a new life. One day, while tending sheep on Mount Horeb, Moses encountered a bush that was on fire yet was not consumed by the flames. As he approached it to investigate, God spoke to him from the bush.
God revealed His plan to Moses: He had seen the suffering of the Israelites and chose Moses to lead them out of Egypt. Moses was doubtful and hesitant, but God provided reassurance to Moses. Moses was instructed to tell the Israelites that “I AM” had sent him, and he was given signs to prove God’s power.
