Days of Creation Word Search Printable

One of the most fascinating stories in the Bible, in my opinion, has to be the story of creation. I mean learning about how we and all that makes up the world we live in came to existence is just so intriguing.

I created a Days of Creation word search printable featuring the 7 days God used to create our world based on Genesis 1-2 from the Bible. This is one of the foundational stories Christian kids need to know and understand, so I hope this word search helps you teach that to them.

Despite the sin and destruction that is present in our world, when you really stop and admire all the intricate details that make up the landscape of our world, it’s just so naturally beautiful.

I often think to myself, how can anybody question the existence of God or think that science alone formed our world… It seems like every detail was perfectly designed, every living creature having its own role in the ecosystem of our environment.

Even when you think of how the earth tilts at just the right angle around the sun so that we aren’t destroyed by the sun… Yes, our God definitely had his hands in this.

The Creation Story

The Bible opens with telling us how everything was created. 

I think every family always has at least one child that asks, “How did I get here?” or “How was I created?” or something to that effect. Until we’re ready to have that other conversation, we can always lead with God’s creation of all mankind.

The world we live in was created in 6 days. And on the 7th day, God rested. This is what the Bible tells us.

It also tells us that after every creation, God was pleased with it because He said “it was good.”

Here’s the story that’s featured on the printable.

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 

He said, “Let there be light,” and separated the light from the darkness. 

On the second day, God made the sky and separated the waters to form the expanse.

On the third day, God gathered the waters to reveal dry land and brought about plants, trees, and flowers. 

On the fourth day, He created the sun, moon, and stars to light the sky.

On the fifth day, God filled the seas with fish and the sky with birds. 

On the sixth day, God created animals and humans to roam the earth.

And after all this, God rested on the seventh day.

He was very pleased with His creation.”

Creative Ways to Use This Word Search Printable

Memory Challenge

After completing the word search, you can challenge your child to recount the days of creation in order. For every day they remember correctly, they can earn a small prize.

Scavenger Hunt

You can combine the word search with a scavenger hunt by hiding clues related to each day's creation around your home or church. Each clue can lead to the next with the final clue leading to the word search.
